The children are enjoying the Share Your Own Music Days at Bemis. It has been so delightful to stop in during music and watch their performances and see the practicing on the playground at recess with friends. It's really special!
We enjoyed our visit by Mr. B, the naturalist who came to talk with us about owl, protective coloring and animal adaptations. We marveled at finding, identifying, and discussing the animal bones in our owl pellets! Lots of pictures were taken on our ipads!
Math: We covered several lessons in our Geometry unit on area and perimeter. We will continue to work on solving story problems involving area and perimeter to make these experiences more authentic to real-world situations. Our test is planned for Wednesday.
Social Studies: We are finishing our unit on the West region and is has been one of our favorite regions as we study the landscape and unique attributes of this region together.
Science: Now that we have concluded our final experiment and exploration of crayfish, we are finishing our study of plant structures.
Reading/Writing Workshop: We finished publishing our non-fiction writing about our assigned states. The children have learned so much from each other by stepping inside their state through Keynote presentations with video, skits, interviews, and digital collages. We will continue with our presentations next week!
